Let's PARTY!!!!

Well, I think it's safe to say a fabulous time was had by all this afternoon at Tanner & Tori's 2nd birthday bash! I know the birthday kids had a ball (pardon the pun!) playing with their cousins and a few close friends at Chuck E. Cheese's.
Here's Daddy having fun with his big two-year-olds (and sporting a coordinating Sesame Street t-shirt!). Tanner and Tori are very much into Sesame Street right now and their two favorite characters happen to be Elmo and Cookie Monster.... so, a party theme was born!
The cakes were AWESOME! My brother, Chris, brought them all the way up from Blue Note Bakery in Austin. They were so cute, so delicious and were a hit with everyone! Thank you, Uncle Chris! You're the coolest!!!

I was so thrilled with how their outfits turned out. They looked so adorable! I was looking for Elmo and Cookie Monster t-shirts one day when I stumbled upon a link to Izzy B Designs and, not only do they make adorable t-shirts, but all sorts of precious dresses for little girls!

Great Aunt Mary getting some sweet Tanner sugar
Mommy and her sweet girl (I promise she had fun, she just wouldn't smile for pictures. Maybe a bit overwhelmed by all the chaos!)
Seeeee? I caught this grin when she wasn't looking!

Time for Pizza:
Here's the whole crew. We lucked out and got a large enough table for everyone!

Cake Time:
"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, dear Tanner! Happy Birthday to You!!!"
"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, dear Tori! Happy Birthday to You!!!"
Blow out the candles......

.... and DIG IN!!!!!

The aftermath... Cookie Monster was a chocolate cake, but notice Elmo's insides were a fun, multi-colored mix of red/pink and blue. It was a flavor called "tie-dye"... they were both really good!

After cake, it was time to play some more games!

Tori playing Skee-Ball with Sherry
Tanner riding the horse with Grampa
The birthday pair hunting gophers together!

After all the activity and excitement, the kids were sufficiently worn out and ready to go. Tanner rode around on Uncle Chris B's shoulders in a daze, while Tori ran around the entire establishment in an attempt to fight her exhaustion.

Turns out, it was harder to get the dads and uncles to leave than the kids... haha!!!
Boys will be boys

Well, we finally made it out of there and got the kids home and in their jammies. They crashed almost as soon as their little 2-year-old heads hit the pillow (so to speak, they don't actually use pillows yet).

What a fun time we had with all of our favorite people! I must say, even though the place we chose was noisy, crowded and chaotic, this year's party was so much more enjoyable to me for several reasons. First of all, it wasn't at our house and I didn't have to clean up! There were plenty of things for kids of all different ages to do (including the dads! LOL!). And lastly, we didn't open gifts (I really should have said "No Gifts" on the invitation, but I didn't think of it at the time). We chose to take the gifts home to let them open here this coming week (we should have some pictures to post of our gift opening session in a few days). So, all of these factors combined made for a great party that I think everyone enjoyed!

Whew! Alright, that's it. That was a long post.... now it's time for bed!
