Roadtrip Continued...

I was pressed for time on the last post and didn't get to share very many details about our trip, so I thought I would recap our adventures for all you faithful readers.

So here goes... Our adventure began back on Thursday, July 3rd. We got the car all packed up and ready to go (which was a feat in and of itself!), we bathed the babies and dressed them in pajamas and strapped them into their car seats with their bedtime bottles and hit the road as we jammed out to lullabies. It took a little while for them to settle down since it was still light outside, but they were asleep by the time we got outside of Dallas and they slept the ENTIRE trip. Our first stop was Evansville, Indiana, where my dear friend, Crystal lives with her husband, Aaron and dog Lucy. We arrived there around 7:00 am on Friday morning, right around the time the babies were waking up. It couldn't have gone any better! We stopped by Crystal's to unload our things and then headed to IHOP for some goooood breakfast. Poor Brad had only gotten about an hour and a half of sleep during the trip, so he was quite tired, but I was too excited to see Crystal! So, she and I hung out with the babies and caught up with each other while the boys napped. We got to spend two nights with Aaron and Crystal and we had such a great time! They are such a sweet couple and were so hospitable. They just moved in to a beautiful (and HUGE!) home, so I had fun trying to help her decide on paint colors and other ideas for the house. We enjoyed playing scrabble at night after the babies went to bed and we even painted her laundry room on Saturday night while the boys went over to one of Aaron's buddies' house to watch a UFC fight. Brad and Aaron got to play golf TWICE in just two days, so Saturday they took the babies and let Crystal and I go shopping and out for ice cream.

Crystal will probably kill me for posting this picture, but I couldn't resist. As you can see, we're still just as goofy and fun-loving as ever... kids at heart! Here we are in the dressing room at a local department store modeling the same shirt (different colors) and just having fun being silly......
My beautiful friend, Crystal!

We said goodbye to Aaron and Crystal on Sunday morning after breakfast at Cracker Barrel and hit the road for our 4-hour trek to Grayson, Kentucky. We arrived in good time and the babies did great during the drive, sleeping most of the way. They woke up ready for lunch about 15 minutes before we arrived. We spent Sunday night with Brad at KCU and then the babies and I left Monday morning for Maryland, where we spent the week with Holly and the girls (refer to the previous post for pictures from our week in Maryland).

One thing I did not get to post earlier was this video clip of Tanner. Holly was pushing Tanner in a shopping cart at a store one day and she was chewing gum. She blew a bubble and Tanner was so tickled by this that he started cracking up. So, the more she did it, the more he laughed. I caught some of it on video... check it out!

We headed back to Kentucky the following Monday to spend three nights with Brad before leaving this past Thursday night for home.

Here are the pictures I promised of Brad's paintings from his time at KCU...

Here's the Before & After of the one from the previous post that the speaker's daughter started.

We left KCU last Thursday evening around 7:00 pm and arrived safely home (praise God! - it was pretty rough from 2:00-5:00 am!!!) around 10:00 am Friday morning. So, I've just been unpacking, doing laundry, leading worship for our 3 services, celebrating our 6th anniversary today (more on that later!) and trying to get some rest.

We had a great time on our trip, but it's always great to be HOME!!!
