It's a............

We had our big mid-pregnancy sonogram last Monday morning. The kids were thrilled to get to come along with us to see the baby and even more thrilled to find out they're having a sister!

Daddy & Tanner waiting anxiously...

This one cracks me up. They were, of course, fascinated with all the models of the different stages of pregnancy. Tori immediately pointed to the one with two babies and said, "Look Mommy! That's like me and Tanner!"

Several of our neighbors have been anxious to find out the baby's gender too, so we thought it would be fun to do a little "reveal party." In the days prior to our sonogram, we had the neighbors vote on what they thought would be the gender of Ball Baby #3... the overwhelming majority actually voted girl!

Two of our neighbors were most excited and had been planning their outfits all afternoon, decked out in head-to-toe pink. Here is Tori with "Team Pink" before the big reveal:

So, to reveal our news, I had stopped by a bakery earlier that afternoon and picked up a few pink cupcakes. I wrapped one of the cupcakes in a white box with pink tissue paper and lots of little cutouts of pink footprints inside. We let one of the most enthusiastic girls open the box to reveal either a blue or pink cupcake, as I had explained to them before she opened the box.

Now watch as they go crazy over the news... definitely the liveliest response we got from anyone! I felt like we were at a pep rally! It was crazy!

Later that evening, we did the same thing with cupcakes to announce the news to Brad's dad, brother, sister-in-law and our niece and nephew. They were very excited as well, as my sister-in-law had been hoping for another baby girl!

We feel very blessed and look forward to meeting our beautiful new daughter in January!

Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

(I'm just a stranger who happened across your blog one day)

Congratulations on finding out that you're expecting a little baby girl! January will be here so quickly.
